« This Is England » Short-Film Festival of Rouen – Friday, November 17th

All the Terminale Euro students will enjoy the screening of 7 short-films, meet some of the British directors invited then vote for their favorite on Friday, November 17th.

Created in 2012, This is England holds an annual week-long event dedicated to British cinema.

The festival offers a selection of short films of all kinds and genres, showcasing the work of emerging filmmakers as well as renowned auteurs returning to the festival. In order to accomplish its main goal which is to help and support young artists in their work, This is England asks a jury of professionals to reward the best shorts among a single competitive selection.

In addition to screenings and talks with an ever growing audience, the festival also organises concerts, plays and special Q&As for students.

Created by the Rouen-Norwich Club, This is England is proud to build on the strong relationship between Normandy and the United Kingdom with a major event for cinema lovers.

Rendez-vous devant le lycée à 6h, lundi matin.

Pensez à garder votre pièce d’identité accessible, à préparer votre pique-nique de lundi midi et à prendre de bonnes chaussures!

Pour rappel, voici le programme :

– Lundi 16/04 : Départ de Rouen (6h30) – Arrivée à Londres – Initiation au cricket – Accueil dans les familles ;

– Mardi 17/04 : Visite de l’Abbaye de Westminster – – Préparation d’un “Cream Tea”

– Mercredi 18/04 : Visite de L’Imperial War Museum ; Visite du SHAKESPEARE’s Globe et activité “Théâtre”  ; 

– Jeudi 19/04 : Covent Garden ; Visite du British Museum – Visite du gratte-ciel « The Shard » (Renzo PIANO, 2012) ;

– Vendredi 20/04 : Visite du cœur historique de la ville de Canterbury – Retour à Rouen (23h-00h).

‘This Is England’ Screenings

Ce vendredi matin, des centaines d’élèves se pressent devant  le cinéma OMNIA de Rouen pour la 6ème édition du festival. Les 7 courts-métrages de la sélection « Lycée » sont attendus avec impatience par les Terminales EURO. Ce soir, vote pour le prix des lycéens qui sera remis samedi 18 lors de la soirée de clôture.

Après la projection, nous avons eu le plaisir de pouvoir échanger avec deux réalisatrices venues sépcialement d’Angleterre, Natacha TONKIN pour Tête à tête et Helena MIDDLETON pour Kin.

    

Après la projection, une séance de Q&A très riche a permis aux élèves d’échanger avec les deux réalisatrices.
