Loick Peyron entered the legend by winning the sailing race of the Route du Rhum (7 days, 15 hours, 8 minutes and 32 seconds). He beat the previous record held by Lionel Lemonchois in 2006.

The rumors which ran are confirmed : Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, is pregnant announces Clarence House, on Monday September 8th, 2014. It is about the second child of the couple after Prince George, who blew his first candle this summer on July 22nd 2013. Queen Elizabeth II, grandmother of William, and the members of both families « are enchanted with this piece of news », added the Palace of Kensigton in a communiqué.
