Bonfire Night takes place on the 5th of November.  Guy Fawkes, with his group of plotters, planned to kill King James I because he was a protestant.  He put 36 barrels of gunpowder in the cellar under the Houses of Parliament.  One of the group betrayed the plot, so Guy Fawkes was taken by the guards and executed!
